Allow you to change the ‘reference’ when you make a payment to a regular payee… (I don’t mean a DD)

I need to change the reference each time so that the payee knows what I’m paying them for…

Or do you have you set the payment up again to update the reference?

Looking for a new building society/bank…

How ridiculous and annoying! HSBC and Metro both let you do it, it’s very useful as I can write the day of the week when I pay the dog walker so I don’t lose track of which days I have paid.

Yes Nat West. You get a text which tells you something has been changed

WeAllHaveWings · 27/05/2022 15:23

i can change the reference on Bank of Scotland app each time I send money to ds and I can see the reference when I look back, but when he checks on his Nationwide app he doesn't see the reference, he just sees it has come from me.

easyday · 27/05/2022 16:06

Yes (NatWest). I think there's an extra security thing (facial recognition for me) when I do.

MrsWooster · 27/05/2022 16:18

Co-op /Smile both do.

JesusSufferingFuck22 · 27/05/2022 16:29

Halifax give you this option

nearlyspringyay · 27/05/2022 16:36

Yes Monzo
No Nationwide

itsthesoundofthepolice · 27/05/2022 16:46

Nationwide -no it's so bloody annoying.
Bank of Scotland -yes

TheCanyon · 27/05/2022 17:00

I'm with nationwide too and can't say it's ever been an issue, infact I've never even noticed but then our regular payments are usually to friends etc so the references aren't items, just either me or dhs name so doesn't really matter.
