What is this spider? Photos

This spider fell out of a cloth onto my arm, whilst I was painting. After screaming the house down. I managed to get some photos.

I don't think it's a false widow, as we've had a few of those, and they have very distinct markings, whereas this is pure black.

Looks like a normal run of the mill house spider. I found one the other day curled up inside my nurofen packet!!! Scared the bejesus outta me

Don't know but a similar one was lurking inside the door frame yesterday. Shudder. Opened door and brushed it outside where it scuttled away.

It’s not a house spider, it’s a Steatoda grossa (cupboard spider) which can be mistaken for a false widow, they are very similar but they don’t have the skull markings in their back.

It could be a black lace weaver spider or a cupboard spider, which is a type of false widow.

I can't believe I've been brave enough to look at the photos but just to add I believe only female false widows have the markings, the males don't? (We had a female one here last year, it's a miracle I didn't immediately burn the house to the ground. Too scared/scarred to Google it now but I'm pretty sure the males are plain?)
