Why do people laugh and stare at strangers?

When I'm out and about I'm always seeing people laugh and stare at me. Is it because I have a learning disability and they're laughing at that? Why are people like this? Angry

I’m sorry this is happening to you op. I’ve not seen that before. What sort of learning disability do you have? Would it even be apparent to people?

also, are you sure they are laughing at you specifically? And not just laughing at something else?

Either they're cunts or you're paranoid. If they're cunts, unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that, outside of maybe finding ways to blend in more so that the cunts don't target you — even though you shouldn't have to. If you're paranoid, you can get treatment for it which should help with the perception of being targeted.

Some people do this because they are nasty bastards. I'm sorry you feel like people are laughing at you, it's not a nice feeling.

BraveryBot9to5 · 25/05/2022 17:32

Is your disability visible and obvious?
Even if it is, i dont know how that's funny.
What do you think is making them laugh?
What are they pointing at, specifically?

Simonjt · 25/05/2022 17:32

Because they’re twats, my husband has a visible physical disability and some wankers find it appropriate to do ‘funny’ impressions of him.

Sorry this is happening OP. You don't deserve such terrible treatment.

The reasons are probably because they are very ignorant and uneducated. Its them, not you.

I'm not sure what Learning Disability it is as I had special needs classes at school and the only way people would know is that it could be the way I talk or the way I walk. As I'm not very confident talking to people especially on the phone and people could probably pick it up from the way I speak.

Otherwise people, just look at me and snigger amongst themselves or even stare and I don't get what they're laughing about.

I could be standing in a queue or walking past them and they just laugh or stare and I wonder why they do just this?! And it's not me being paranoid!

It's because they've not been brought up to have respect and tolerance for other people and for difference. It's their loss as it's their character flaw. For some it probably comes from their own low self esteem too and a desire to fit in with whoever is the dominant personality.

There will be significantly more people who are not behaving like this, but of course they're not the ones you will notice, unfortunately.

So sorry this is happening to you
I can teach you some very fruity swear words if you want me to ?

Seriously , hold your head up high and live your life , ignore the ignorant people who should know better

True, they point out anyone who is 'different' as a way of bonding with each other over how 'normal' they themselves are.
