Universal credit

I have 1 dc under 2yo and I'm a SAHM, universal credit said a phone appointment was made 'to discuss your universal credit claim' and I missed it so they rescheduled for today and I accidentally missed that. I logged into the portal and it said they suspended my payments and I won't get paid until I respond. I contacted them and they said to leave a message for my work coach. I left a message but the person hasn't responded yet and now I'm worried sick about my rent payments.

Hopefully you’ll get a response from your journal entry quite quickly and get it sorted but you do need to prioritise your UC a calls to avoid this in the future. Missing two in a row isn’t great.

They don't give you leeway anymore.
You really need to prioritise these appointments.
Are you private ll?

Do you have any LD? Do you need someone to help you remember important meetings?

Do you have a partner?

MayorDusty · 24/05/2022 17:44

What is your 'll like? Will he be difficult if you pay a bit late?

It's an estate agents and they'll be fussed if it's late. I just recently got paid, the next time rent will be due is beginning of July.

You'll just have to pay your rent a few days late but in future put a reminder on your phone it's easy

Op please put the times of the calls in your phone to remind you. UC are very strict about appointments. They may reinstate your money if you can give a good enough reason why you missed the calls. I do not know what they would accept as a good enough reason but some one on here maybe able to help with that. I hope you get it sorted out soon

Ntsure · 24/05/2022 17:51

Best bet is to let the estate agents know now what happened and that you’re are sorting it

MayorDusty · 24/05/2022 17:52

Ah that's not so bad. It should be sorted and back on track by then but even if you are a couple of days late the 'll won't know.
make sure to keep checking your journal, especially while this gets sorted.
UC and the doctors, if you are expecting a call or an appointment set an alarm on your phone as soon as you make it. Then sit and watch the phone when it's time.

Watchkeys · 24/05/2022 17:54

UC are quick to respond to journal entries. If you've got until July you'll be fine.
