Another passport one

Trying to get to the part where I nominate someone to confirm DC's identity but it just keeps saying service is unavailable but I will be able to do it at another time. Do they mean another time today or another time this week? Will we even be in the backlog until we get past this bit? I've already given them my card details.

Is that bit part of the application?
What age is your dc?
Is it letting you complete the application without doing that part?

I've finished the first part. He is a baby. It's his first passport

It doesn't say "application received" on the tracking until the person you nominate has confirmed identity. Once that's done they tell you where to send your documents to.
Just keep trying, hopefully you'll be able to add their details soon. Seems to be happening a lot where the website goes down.

I'm just worried it will be a days and the backlog will get even bigger!
