I got whistled at today

That hasn't happened to me for years, probably decades! I had thought it had died out as men had learned, but maybe I just got old.

I can only assume the man in question made a mistake today. I'm 52 with (according to MN) an old lady short hair cut and was wearing a calf length summer dress and trainers 😆 He was a lorry driver driving past.

So initially light hearted, but have I been kidding myself that this no longer happens? Do young women still have to put up with it regularly?

It doesn't happen as often these days I don't think?
I enjoy it when it does though.

It does happen, but not as much which is obviously a good thing. I remember getting whistled at when I was clearly under 16 and I was mortified, and I’d hate it to happen to my dd’s. Unfortunately I’m at the age where I’d probably be happy at getting whistled at now 🙄

I have to admit that in my teens, we used to go out and "loiter" specifically in places where we might get hooted or whistled at. By the time I was in my mid 20s I was furious with men who did it 😆

In my experience whistling itself happens less but catcalls just as much as ever. I'm early 40s, so over two decades experience of it. I fucking hate it.

I got cat called from a van a couple of years ago. It was travelling past quite quickly so I didn't feel in any danger and was quite amused as I am in my 60s with several grandchildren. I didn't think it still happened although it was a constant thing when I was young in the 70s.

It happens less but does still happen. Bloody hate it - fuck off you harassing arses!

Horrible for young women.

I got cat called the other day from a van (I'm 34 and was wearing jeans and a cardigan), it hadn't happened to me in a few years...my main thought was I'd forgot how "jumpy"/startling it is!
