Hoping to get a new kitchen soon and fancy a worktop that looks and feels more high end

so was thinking about quartz or marble and just wandered if any of you have these and what your thoughts on them are

I had marble in my previous house and it never stained or marked despite the fact that my ex, with whom I shared the house, was a messy type.

I have marble worktops. They never stain or mark, anything wipes right off.

One of them has a couple of little chips out of the edge where a heavy object fell on it with much force, but that's another story.

3 years in with quartz work tops and not a mark on them. Bar keepers friend takes off any water marks, and nothing has stained so far!

Thanks so much for the advice
i really think a nice worktop adds so much to the look and feel
and I love the cooler touch of it

I don't know about quartz but I live in an area of Italy famous for its marble quarries so all our floors and worktops are marble, and yes, absolutely they stain and scratch like buggery.
I have white marble worktops and have to use bleach on them every so often. My flooring is mainly black marble and fairly scratched now (no dogs, just human wear and tear)
