Trying to cut down on plastic, but why is bar soap so SQUISHY after a few days! Are there any low plastic soaps that don't disintegrate quickly into sludge?

Bought some pears (it's blue, not green) it appears to be holding up well over a day or so.

@Babdoc Yes- Imperial Leather, doesn't go squashy, does get massive fissures, then cracks into pieces. Just as annoying.

I have found the coal tar stuff good in the past, may go back to that, as the pears was wrapped in plastic.

I have a good soap dish, I air the bathroom- this is a soap predisposition to squashiness issue- some do appear to be better than others. Thank you for the recommendations!

I use Dove and it never goes squishy

You need triple milled soap - it sounds like overkill, but even on my shitely draining soap dish, doesn't go soggy.

Something like this one - gorgeous scent, lasts for flipping aaaages!

Aromas artesenales de Antigua, is the company.

If you can find their lily if the valley one, it's so so lovely.

so you need to let it dry out a bit before use - store bars (wrapper a bit open ) in your t-shirt drawer or something. then a soap dish and drain the water off.
Also, the type of oil etc can impact on how squishy. I buy from BeautyKitchen, and their soaps stay non-squishy really well! Also, they are free of palm oil.

Triple milled. I'm on it! Thanks.

I only buy Nesti Dante bars now as they are huge, last ages and smell gorgeous.

We use bar soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Bar soap we get from the Highland Soap Company, shampoo and conditioner from Lush.

We store them inside soap bags which hang from hooks inside the shower. None go mushy or disintegrate.

Body Shop soap bars don't go soft or crack, and last for ages

I use Dove here and keep it on the side of the sink. The sink has the built in bar holder things so has a groove along the edge to allow for air flow. Never had it go soggy!

loads of the soaps recommended above are made with palm oil.

Sanex or Dettol are good. Both smell nice and are fine on my eczema prone hands / skin.

I really like Faith In Nature bars but they go so squishy when used as hand soap so I won't be buying again.

I use Faith in Nature and mine never goes soggy. My soap dish is a clam shell with pretty stones in it.
