My MIL’s carers are leaving at the end of this month as they feel she needs live in care , which they don’t provide .
She is on the waiting list for a live in carer, but there will be a gap of a few weeks. We feel that the best thing to do would be for her to go into a care home / residential home during this time .
We don’t live in Norfolk , so all we can do at this moment in time is search the internet. It’s a minefield.
Obviously we want this to be a good experience for her , and would like to think that she may even choose this type of care over live in care. All of this will depend on the experience she has in the care home we find her .
So I would love to hear any recommendations you may have.
It is our first experience of this and it’s so worrying and difficult .
She has Parkinson’s , and is fairly mobile . Her mind is fairly sharp , although she can get muddled and confused. She is in her late 70’s.
Any advice would be gratefully received !

Were either her or her husband in the forces? There is a lovely British legion one in Cromer.

Have you looked at the MHA home (Methodist Homes Association). They do respite care at this one in Norfolk. DM is in one, though in a different area. Their whole ethos and care is lovely.

Park House in Great Yarmouth, the staff are absolutely wonderful there. They are on Facebook with all the activities they do with residents
