If you're a "healthy" weight, what's your BMI?

Just curious what the average healthy-weight-range person is really.

Purpleavocado · 19/05/2022 21:51

24.4 feeling a bit flabby

TheSeldomSeenKid · 19/05/2022 21:55

Bmi is 21, I’m a runner and play a lot of sport so have quite a lot of muscle!
I feel like I could look slimmer in jeans but these thigh muscles are going no where 😂

  1. I'm overweight for my frame at anything over 22.

Ditto. And at 20 I'm slim, not thin.

Aozora13 · 19/05/2022 21:57

I’m currently 24 but flabby, floppy and busty due to bf 7mo and recovering from long covid. I’m usually 22-23. I was 20 in my 20s but think thanks to childbearing and middle age spread that ship has sailed!

Catcrazy83 · 19/05/2022 21:58

21.5. I feel better at 20 (pre holiday weight) but tend not to feel bad enough to kick start the exercise again until I’m around 23. Always been a yo-yo’er.

ABlindAssassin · 19/05/2022 21:58

19.1 - just worked it out using the NHS site.

RedSoloCup · 19/05/2022 22:02

20.3

Only issue is my slight wine belly 😓

Ikeameatballs · 19/05/2022 22:07

I just calculated mine and it’s 18.4. Size 6-8 and that’s pretty typical for me, although I’m well past it now I conceived easily at this BMI or probably slightly lower. I feel healthy but do think I would look too thin if I went below this.

itssquidstella · 19/05/2022 22:11

20.6 (pre-pregnancy, probably about 4 million currently 😆).

DSGR · 19/05/2022 22:15

24, size 10

Ihaveoflate · 19/05/2022 22:17

20.3 apparently (just calculated now)

I'm a size 8 and look very slim.

littlemissalwaystired · 19/05/2022 22:19
  1. Happy where I am.
coffeeschmoffee · 19/05/2022 22:23

Bmi currently 23 but I don't look my best. I'm a size 10 but I'm short. 22 or under suits me better

WalkerWalking · 19/05/2022 22:25

5'7", 9st8 puts my BMI 21.1. I'm a size 12-14

This doesn't feel like a "healthy" weight for me. I'm the opposite of people who are very fit and surprisingly heavy because of muscle mass. I'm basically a fairly thin frame, with quite spindly arms/legs, but with lots of flab round the middle. I need to drop below BMI 20 to lose the belly/love handles and to feel comfortable in a size 10.

c3pu · 19/05/2022 22:25

I could do with more muscle tone though!

TaraRhu · 19/05/2022 22:25

@coffeeschmoffee I'm exactly the same. Need to shed some pounds. Not loads just -bit.

Bloodybridget · 19/05/2022 22:38

21.2 when I checked just now. Clothes are mostly 10 or 12, but I hate wearing anything tight.

Sakura54 · 19/05/2022 22:38

Pre-babies I was bordering on underweight at 18.5 and sometimes lower. Now I'm 20.6, so more 'healthy'. Not sure if it will go back down naturally.

onlywork55 · 19/05/2022 22:44

21.6 and I wear a size 10. I’m happy at this weight but would quite like to lose another half stone or so.

As an adult I’ve been anywhere from 20-24 (excluding pregnancy) and did feel overweight at the upper end, but I’m not particularly muscly or toned.

Lbnc2021 · 19/05/2022 22:48

According to the bmi index I am overweight.

Im a competitive bodybuilder who has spent the last 6 months on prep and I’m doing British finals in a couple of weeks, this is why I go by what I see in the mirror.

GrandSlamFinale · 19/05/2022 22:49

Currently 23, according to the NHS calculator. It fluctuates between 22.7 and 23.5.

I'm 175cm and 70-72kg, don't ask me what that is in feet or stone. Size 10-12.

HisHX · 19/05/2022 22:49

19.8 apparently (first time I’ve calculated it), I’m a size 8.
