Should I stay or should I go? Summer holidays

I really need help unravelling my feelings about my summer plans.
Usually DDs & I would go and spend four or five weeks with my mum in Spain.
Now DD1 is 21 she's out of the equation so it's basically me and DD2 (16). DH will usually stay in U.K. to work and look after the cats.
This summer I really am not keen to go for several reasons.
Firstly I have agreed to go and house sit for friends in Spain for five weeks in September.
Secondly it's actually quite hard work to spend that long with my mother DD2 loves it because Mum’s house is a dream, swimming pool, large gardens and sunshine guaranteed.
Thirdly because I have already spent a month recently in Spain for medical support for DM so I've calculated that my plans leave me with about 9 days leeway re the 90 day rule.
The Pros of staying at home are that we could use the cost of flights to do a long awaited garden project. And, for me, a stress free summer.
Obviously the downsides are obvious. A summer of DD2 being bored as her friends are generally going to be away. Also the weather. We've only spent one summer here in the last ten years and it peed down almost everyday !!
Also if we stay here it'll cost a lot more than going to Spain.
And I'm not sure if DD2 will forgive me 😂

Can't you go for a week, leave dd and go back to the uk for a bit? Then go back for a week or two? You don't need to be there for the whole time.

Could your DD go on her own? She's old enough not to need you there!

Do the house sitting friends live near your mother? If so, maybe you could roll the trips into one and spend time with mother while you're there anyway, especially as you've already been there for a month this year anyway.. I'm sure all of DD's friends won't be away for the whole of the summer ... sometimes something has to give.

DD2 goes alone !!

DD2 alone I think, assuming that a share of housework and support for your mum is done by her.
