It's weird how sometimes you can't see it @Aroundtheworldin80moves. My first green was my first guess, I got 999 on guess 47 and it took me until guess 81 to get it!

That made sense! Actually a few other related words I tried sort of work with both meanings.

I solved Semantle #128 in 107 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of -1.84. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #8. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 26.29 (731/1000). semantle.com/

That was a bit embarrassing as my DM did this for years.
I still don't see what 997 has to do with the target word, I had that quite early on and it really didn't help.
