TMI alert.

For the past few days I've had awful, weird poos and they were like a dark green colour and sticky.

After reading a few threads on here about black sticky poo and internal bleeding, I rang my mate who's a HCP in a bit of a panic (getting an appoinment round here takes like 4 weeks)

She came round, checked me over, said I seemed alright but should get properly checked anyway, at a walk in ASAP.

THEN she saw me necking a pint of Ribena, and asked how much I drunk everyday (a lot)

She advised me to give it up for a couple of days, see what happened............

Well.......As I'm sure you can guess, turns out it was the fucking Ribena!!

Moral of the story, don't neck that shit, I feel so fucking stupid now.

Also makes you do weird, disturbing, voluminous purple sick. I discoverd this at the birth of my last child when it was hot and DH helpfully kept handing me cartons of ribena as he's picked up a large pack of them.when he went to get something from the car ...

Ditto beetroot.

Scares me every time.

Ribena always gives me uti’s - any other blackcurrant drink is fine but whenever I drink Ribena this happens! Apparently there is a link with uti’s and blackcurrant based drinks. Hope you are feeling better

Oh god poor you , at least it wasn't anything serious.

Many years ago I was told I may have a slight vit C deficiency so I started drinking fresh ( home squeezed) orange.

I started with just one or two small glasses a say and increased it over about 2 weeks to a couple of pints a day .

Are you would imagine I got terrible stomach cramp and diarrhoea I felt run down and tired I thought it was because my vitamin C deficiency was getting worse so I drank more the cycle went over about 6 weeks until somebody pointed out to me the diarrhoea caused by drinking too much bloody orange juice.

Oh, well done for NOT babe hanging!

I drink the sugar free one (no, it's not as nice, but I'm diabetic) but I buy the concentrate and have it incredibly weak, so could try that instead of the ready to drink stuff?!!!

Remember a friend of mine downing a pint with added blackcurrant whilst out with a group of friends as a drinking game. Wasn't a good idea with the other alcohol she had already been drinking. Her DH picked her up from the pub and as soon as she got home she threw up and he thought she was really ill as it looked as if she was vomiting blood!

My sister used to drink a lot of blackcurrant cordial and once did a blackcurrant coloured wee 🤣

I once panicked because DS did this really weird poo but it turned out he'd had a massive raspberry slushie with his Dad, god knows what's in that stuff.
