Does no-one drill/screw mount their shower caddies anymore?

Fed up of my mouldy rusty shower caddy so I started looking for a rust resistant (stainless steel or aluminium are good for this I believe) replacement. I've looked on Amazon, Argos, B&Q, Homebase.....seems like no-one wants to get the drill out anymore? Most use suction or adhesive methods.

Don't get me wrong - I have no inclination to use a drill either and would have to get someone to do it for me. But do the suction/adhesive ones actually work??

No, the suction ones are rubbish.

As I thought. But the screw mount ones are few and far between!!

Mine has a hook which fits over the bar that holds the shower hose. I think it was from Sainsburys.

I too hate the fact that shower caddies are made from metal that rusts - how stupid!

I have an adhesive one from Amazon that's brilliant. And it has pretty heavy stuff in! First one I've ever used that didn't budge
This one, been up since sept 2021

I hate anything that requires drilling into the tiles. It inevitably breaks long before the tiling is redone and you are left with two holes that any replacement doesn’t fit so you end up drilling more and having to fill the old holes which looks shit.

I have the IKEA suction ones, and they're pretty good, rarely fall off if you don't overload them. All plastic so no rust and easy to scrub clean.

i read the title and thought the discussions are getting a bit fruity, and thought your private life is your own affair ! and i'd rather keep mine private.
guess i assumed it was some variation on a golf caddy...

I've had the same suction ones for a decade and the hold absolutely fine. They're called Power Lock.

@Allywill agree it looks shit and not easy to do...I guess it's just the way it was always done before these new fangled methods came along. And I'm not sure whether to trust these new methods because I'm obviously getting old and that's how old people think.

@FionnulaTheCooler no to plastic I'm afraid. I have a small bathroom with no windows and very hard water. Anything plastic gets that shitty pinkish limescale all over it in no time.

@alexdgr8 to be honest, I was talking in code and totally meant the gorgeous young man that follows me into the bathroom carrying all my toiletries but then everyone starting talking about shelves so I went with the flow.

Right, that's it. I'm getting the one as recommended by @MrOllivander and @starlingdarling . And you know what? I'm excited. Yeh, that's right. Saturday night and I'm buying a shower caddy. And I'm loving it.

Grin be careful when you place the stickers as they are VERY sticky. They sent spare ones too but I haven't needed them
My dad did the man thing of testing them by yanking them and made an impressed noise Hmm as they didn't come off the wall

I've got a suction toilet roll holder which has been going strong for 7 years!
But I think suction in a wet area is a different matter. Don't you think @alexdgr8 😏

I never found any suction ones would stick to our tiles. So always had one screwed/drilled in, but got them done with the bathrooms. Never had to replace one fortunately.

When we got the bathrooms redone we scrapped the shower caddy entirely. We now have 4 hooks/knobs on the wall to hang a small soap bag on instead as we made the move to bars of soap, and solid shampoo and conditioner. The final one holds my razor and a small tube of face scrub.
