Having a really dark day, nature/animals normally gets me through but not an option at this moment. What comedies/music or anything at all gets you through bad times ? Thankyou

Detectorists and Ghosts are my go to cheering up comedies.

Also episodes of Gardener's World and Nigel Slater and Barefoot Contests cookery shows were a small pleasure during lockdown.

Hot cup of tea in a proper breakfast cup and saucer, sitting in the garden if the weather is good enough.

Reading nature books.

Throw clothes on and go and get yourself some lovely food and drink to have later or order something in if you cannot get out.

Clean and tidy your bedroom with 90's tunes blasting (singing along to Alanis Morissette always helps me but go with whatever your era is)

Fresh sheets on.

Bath or shower and put on your nicest jammies/loungewear and hop into bed.

My go to movie is About time when I'm feeling down, But a box set of something gentle like Gavin and Stacey or big bang theory does the trick.

@darlingdodo

I loved The detectorists the whole series has a calming feeling about it, I think I'll watch it again. Ghosts I've never got around to watching even though it has people in it I love from other series so I'll definitely give it a go thanks.

Treat myself to my favourite foods, hot bath, familiar comedy box set (Big Bang, the Office, Friends, Brooklyn 99) and a good night’s sleep. I’d keep it light and stay away from anything too nostalgic as that tends to send me spiralling. Try and get outside for some fresh air if you can manage it, feel the sun on your face, even if only for a short while. x

Superstore on Netflix

Agree. It has us laughing out loud in our house...

If you like the Detectorists, you might like the most recent Worzel Gummidge programmes - they're brilliant.
