Please update the world with things we should know.

I'll start, tomatoes are crap and pointless.

Agree to disagree on tomatoes. Celery on the other hand is evidence of a creator to me - all inventors get things wrong and celery is Wrong. If you're going to taste like shitty cheap sellotape, at least have a nice texture. If you're going to be stringy and weird, then taste of something lovely. Don't feel stringy and weird AND taste of cheap sellotape.

Disagree regarding tomatoes, totally agree regarding celery. It's only good for science experiments. It should be abolished.
We will come last in the Eurovision.
There, I've saved you all the trauma of watching it 😆

My washing machine is awaiting repair.

Launderettes are a dying breed.

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/05/2022 11:08

Tomatoes good, celery bad.

OldTinHat · 14/05/2022 11:10

Celery has no valid reason to exist. Vile stuff.

Tomatoes are food of the gods (a friend, however, calls them 'devil's testicles').

Football should not be in TV when my DH could be doing DIY instead.

Faki · 14/05/2022 11:23

I'll ignore tomato hype.
Was hoping "home-made" snobbery would've gone down the drain with lockdowns

Celery exists for mirepoix and sofritto. It's a good base flavour but not something to be eaten as an individual ingredient. For those of you with stingy issues, run a potato peeler down the back to get rid of it. Works like a charm.

starlingdarling · 14/05/2022 17:35

Oh and try a tomato in New Zealand or France. Both taste nothing like their English equivalent. I still only like them cooked but the flavour was poles apart from the floury tasteless monstrosities you get here.
