Not started today’s yet but I just wanted to ask whether a lot of people who play on here work in finance? Lots of you seem to get the finance/business ones very quickly.

No, but I work in a company... I can't remember any where specialist financial/business knowledge or jargon would have been particularly useful.

I think all the words themselves have been fairly simple but that sort of corporate language helps a lot with the top 100 say for something like company or cooperative - sure we’ve had things like vendor before.

I think this is because the word bank comes from newspapers and there's a lot of business reports there with fairly samey language. The more difficult semantles (eg with the first green at a similarity of 30+) tend to be adjectives and adverbs, where there is far more variety.

Anyway, today I had a high cold and took a punt on a word which turned out to be 981. Then just a bit of "think American" and I had the target at 21st go!

I am literally here and cannot get the word.

After my 10 yesterday, normal service has resumed with 143 today, including 3 hints which were mostly useless. The list of words is just boggling 🤔

I used 2 hints - which were hopeless - and had to resort to r/Semantle in the end.

There's no way I would have got it without that. I thought I was on a theme fairly early on, but it was a complete rabbit hole, and had absolutely nothing to do with the secret word.

I just asked for a hint. It gave me number 1. Where do I go with that?😂

I think I’ve fallen out with this game. I had to resort to hints today and even with some pretty high ones wouldn’t have got near. Gave up in the end.
