I’ve not had an interview for 21 years - been the same job that long.

i have an interview for a position next week and I wast it so bad! It would be perfect. The thing is I’m not very good at interviews. When I was offered the job I have now the interviewer actually said he could tell how nervous I was but knew I could do the job. How do I stop the nerves and answer questions without getting my words mixed up!

Preparation is everything.

Go through the job description and prepare an example of how you have done each of the tasks before. Also, if they are asking for e.g. a team player, think of an example when you demonstrated that skill.

Research the company. You might be asked what you know about them or why you want to work for them.

Have a blurb about yourself ready to answer a possible question along the lines of 'Why should we choose you?'.

I always find that I'm so much more relaxed when I've prepared like this. It makes me more confident and takes the nerves away a bit (although interviews are quite nerve racking by nature). Good luck!
