I’ve recently left a very very long established stable job.
The job I went to was an opportunity of a lifetime. Amazing job.
But they have emailed over the last few weeks to say that 2 different staff members have left. Suddenly. There one day, the next gone.
I have spoken to another member of staff who says that it happens a lot. That’s why they have a back up plan B in case it happens to them.
The industry is business, private sector.
It has freaked me out. I’m trying to learn the (very complicated) ropes and don’t have very much confidence so am not 100% good at the job yet.
Anyone been in this situation? Why do they just “get rid” of people? How do people keep their nerve? Are they not on the edge the whole time?
It has really shaken me.
Advice? Wisdom? Please.
