I went to a coffee morning yesterday and there was a lady in her 80's who was called
'Vina' speaking to her was very difficult as she has dementia.
All I know is that it isn't short for anything.
Do you know anyone with that name or heard it before.

I've not heard that before- and I've heard a lot of names as a teacher of 30 odd years.
A quick Google says it's a Spanish name - meaning vineyard. Did she have Spanish heritage?

If anything I'd of said Irish. Dark hair, very pale skin with bright blue eyes even though she was in her 80's. (She kept saying I'm 86 you know)

I have a great aunt called Vina, she's Irish, she's probably... late 80s early 90s.

I don't think it was a particularly unusual name at the time as all her siblings have very... typical names (David, Thomas, Micheal etc)

My Grandma was called Vina, short for Lavinia

She was with her niece who confirmed it wasn't short for anything.
Both were lovely ladies.
