Stepparenting seems to only ever be a negative experience on mumsnet, I'm wondering if anyone else doesn't mind it/quite likes it? DP's DS is 4.5 and we get on great. Granted, it helps that I was Mummy's best friend for years before becoming an "extra parent" and there isn't drama with DS's dad. DP encourages me to have a parent-like relationship with him, down to discipline which I know lots of stepparents are wary of getting involved with!
