Work options for part time

I currently work full time. I have 2 kids aged 3&6. I've worked full time since I started working!

Work have recently given me the option to go part time. They've said I can essentially choose what I want and they'll make it work (massive recruitment crisis and doing anything to keep good existing staff).

So what do I want? I love my job and I love working, I'm middle management in the NHS and I enjoy what I do. But recently, the last year or so, I feel I'm struggling to keep on top of everything outside of work, the house, being present for my kids and I spend evenings and weekends doing life and household admin stuff when I could be doing more with the kids and being less stressed at them.
During lockdown I worked 4 long days, and I really enjoyed that. So I'm considering a reduction from 37 to 33 hours and working them over 4 days. Money isn't really a factor, though I don't think 3 days a week is financially sustainable.

What would you do? What downsides can you foresee?

I'm also unsure what day I should choose to have off. Friday isn't a great idea.

Have a think about what school holidays will look like with any arrangement. It waslack of holiday care that ran longer than 9-3 that finished me off.

We're lucky that DCs school has an excellent 7.30-6pm wrap around and holiday provision. And then another provider is also 7.30-6 in the holidays.
