Am hoping for musical recommendations for London in August, will be bringing DS 16 and 12 and DD 14.
Thinking of Hamilton or Back to the Future? The youngest mentioned Harry Potter but we are going Sunday to Wednesday so it doesn’t look like a runner. Any recs appreciated!

It's not a musical and I don't know if it's even running atm but Stomp is great for teens.

We went to see &Juliet in January, 3 generations including DS11 and DD14 (up to DM69) and we all loved it - beautiful set and costume, good music - it uses pop songs, written by someone who has written an awful lot of hits for various artists - so you know the songs already and they work them into the musical beautifully. Some of the voices were so powerful they made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. It was a really lovely evening.

Does it have to be a musical? If not, then I'd strongly recommend The Ocean at the End of the Lane. It's the play of the Neil Gaimann book of the same name, and absolutely fantastic. A little scary, so best for older kids.

SIX!!
Brilliant and should appeal to the teens. I usually have to know musicals before I enjoy them but I was hooked from the first note!

I think its at the Duke of York Theatre now. We saw it at the National Theatre before Covid.

Grease has just started last week. DD saw it and wants to go back again in the summer.

Have you booked yet OP?

We have seen the following musicals so far this year with dd1 (13) and dd2 (10).

Cinderella
Wicked
Six
Matilda

All were great in their own way but especially Six, as we saw it locally so in a smaller theatre. The audience were very raucous throughout!

We have Sister Act and & Juliet booked for August, so hopefully they will be just as great 🤞
