Rousette- I'm not expecting photos with Sue Gray. I'd imagine that would tip over in to privacy issues.

If only some people understood eating and drinking together at work does not constitute a party. Ask Starmer, he agrees as does the Met.

What will Pippa and Brand try next!

@JaniieJones I think perhaps you missed the post last time I asked this, but perhaps you will be able to reply to this one.

Could you link to where in the very many Downing Street briefings the Prime MInister gave in April and May 2020 he said it was fine for those children who had to go to school during that time to have cake, birthday parties and sing with those who were also in class with them?

I'll be starting a new thread soon if everyone's got the stomach for it.

It will have 'Sue Grey' in the title as it's due next week... complete with photos... Grin

Gray
It's Sue Gray Smile

A few tweets I found interesting:

So where are we?

No more fines for Boris Johnson. That's despite the fact it appears others have been fined for events at which he was present, so their presence was illegal but his was not. Clear questions around the logic for that, though Met unlikely to answer.

Fines were issued for an event on November 13 2020 - the date of the alleged ‘Abba’ party in the Downing St flat- but I (and indeed anyone else who has been asking) have been there will be no further action taken against Carrie Johnson ie no fine.

Think it's fair to say there are a lot of very unhappy junior civil servants right now. One, who did not receive a fine, but knows people who did texts: "As ever, we carry the can."

Allegedly Cummings has aslo said

According to @Dominic2306 civil servants were assured by their superiors that gatherings complied with the coronavirus regulations. Seems a bit topsy turvy that they, not their superiors, got the fixed penalty notices

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2022 17:01

Cummings has photos.

has he published them? Or telling people he has them on his blog or tweets (I don’t follow him anywhere)

But apparently only for some people. How can attending the same event be legal for some people and not for others? Come on @JaniieJones, let’s see your mental gymnastics on that one.

Roussette · 19/05/2022 17:11

Here we go. This hasn't finished....

I imagine that after Sue Gray has finalised her report any photographs will be stored ready for the Parliamentary inquiry in the late summer/Autumn.

itsgettingweird · 19/05/2022 18:09

You treat BJ as if he's a brainless moron not capable of setting an example.

Well..... if the cap fits!

How does having a party in your own flat constitute eating and drinking at work

SueSaid · 19/05/2022 19:09

'Cummings has photos.'

Why hasn't he released them then? Why on earth can't alleged genuis Cummings see he's maybe missed the boat here.

Piggywaspushed · 19/05/2022 19:20

He's waiting.

He can now make all of them, Met included, look fools.

We will see.

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2022 19:23

He got away with it fine, no apology

He really is odious. People love it though

ClaudineClare · 19/05/2022 19:24

I really hope so piggy. I want to see Johnson destroyed.

Blossomtoes · 19/05/2022 19:39

The time to release the photos would be just after the inevitably heavily redacted Gray report.

@JaniieJones I am not sure you saw at the end of the last thread, where I asked in which of the very many Downing Street briefings in April and May 2020 it was made clear that those children who were going to school together, by virtue of their parents being keyworkers could have cake, party and sing together?

SueSaid · 19/05/2022 20:05

'He's waiting. He can now make all of them, Met included, look fools.'

Maybe. He seems to be more a rambling fool himself on twitter than anyone else tbh. Surely if he has photos he will have shared them with the Met and if they show BJ doing a conga wearing a party hat I'm pretty sure he'd have got a fpn. As I said they seem to have had a low bar as demonstrated by the 2 that have been issued to politicians.

SueSaid · 19/05/2022 20:09

'where I asked in which of the very many Downing Street briefings in April and May 2020 it was made clear that those children who were going to school together'

Different rules for schools and workplaces. I think we've discussed this previously? Having said that I have no doubt that if it was a child's birthday whilst at school in lockdown the class will have said 'happy birthday'. This does not constitute a party and it's a bit odd that you think it does. Do you have kids, is this the kind of 'party' they had?! Confused.

Ah, so you are saying that the rules said it was ok to have cake, party and sing happy birthday at work, but not in schools. Can you think why there would be this difference in rules?

Can you show me where in any of the Downing Street briefings in April or May 2020 it was said that it was fine to eat cake, party, or sing happy birthday?

SueSaid · 19/05/2022 20:17

I'm saying that people at work and school will all have said happy birthday to someone despite restrictions. We were allowed to speak to each other you know?

SueSaid · 19/05/2022 20:17

All that fuss and 2 fpns. 2 🙄
