Iceland (the country) with kids

Just wondering has anyone any experience of going to Iceland with kids? They're 6 and 8. Would be the first week in November. I'm turning 40 so looking go somewhere special but want to bring our kids so needs to be fun for them too. (All other suggestions of nice places to go welcome). Thanks in advance.

We have been to Iceland twice with kids and it’s absolutely brilliant. By far and away though the best winter holiday we had was Finland family adventure with exodus. Expensive but 12 years later kids still say how amazing it was and the organisers take the kids on their own little exhibitions setting u a lifetime of loving the outdoors.

That sounds great @Millionairesshortbread1 I'll definitely look into it. I'm wondering if @Puffinshop 's advice would be applicable to Finland too in November though. Could look at it for the week after Christmas maybe (I'm a teacher so limited in when we can go away)
