Does anyone have any experience getting lead water pipes replaced in the home? Did you get a financial aid from the waterboard?

My understanding is that the home owner is responsible for paying for replacement of pipes inside the home.
We had some lead pipes in the bathroom that we paid to replace.
What's a water board?
The water company may pay for replacement for a lead pipe that supplies your house from the street. I think we were contacted about this because they were doing an upgrade in our area.

We replaced ours but at our own expense. Scottish Water connected it all up in the street after inspecting our work had been done properly.

if it's inside your property boundary it's the property owner's responsibility. Water boards haven't existed for decades!!
