Anyone else add super expensive houses to thier favourites on right move knowing full well you will never be able to afford them.
think I have a problem... I also go as far to work out who’d have each bedroom... then feel super depressed because I know it will never happen 😂

yes all the time , i imagine iv had a huge win on the lottery and then start browsing , mentally working out which room will be mine , which one dd would love the best , planning out which room i could have themed as a jungle for our 2 cats complete with huge cat trees and the like and of course at least one room for some of our house bunnies , expensive wooden runs , castles , bridges and tunne , and then yeah i just get bloody depressed knowing iv got more chance of being hit with an asteroid really .

I check Right Move every morning and evening to look at any new houses on the market. I only look in my price range but I'm not looking to buy, I just feel I need to see what's out there Smile

Is there anyone who isn’t addicted to rightmove?

TryingNotToReact9to5 · 05/05/2022 22:44

I used to be the same, I'm Irish, so it was daft.ie but I was on there several times a day. At one point, I had a spreadsheet with initial asking prices of the houses I was interested in and cross referencing later with property price register, I'd fill in what they went for in the end. I was far more broody for a house than I ever was for a baby!

I love rightmove. I'm happily married with young kids, but I play the 'if I lived alone' game.

CampervanQueen · 05/05/2022 22:44

Browsing houses I can't afford is my favourite lunchtime activity.

Dontlickthetrolley · 05/05/2022 23:22

It's my second most visited web page after....... AIBU 🤦‍♀️

Lovinglife45 · 05/05/2022 23:37

I look at houses way beyond my budget - well over £1m. I fantasise about having a large bedroom and multiple bathrooms.

Pearlyqueen21 · 05/05/2022 23:42

I endlessly browse the overseas Rightmove pages, torturing myself with cheap French or Italian houses!

ohfook · 05/05/2022 23:43

I love it. I save the houses whose decor I like sort of like a Pinterest board.

I went on last year and found the local manor house up for sale. I begged my dh to buy it but he looked astonished I would want it and said, just think of all the cleaning you would have to do in a manor house with all those rooms. You know you would hate that. I checked it every day until it was sstc. I felt bereft. I wanted to be a princess in the manor house. Beautiful wide staircase.

My mother does this. I get regular updates of her current (dream) moving plans, what she would buy if she won X or Y amount on the lottery. Her current plan is a large site with four to five properties so we can all live like the Waltons.

I admit, I've dabbled, but I wouldn't say I go as far as not the check my email on a Saturday night because she will know she's not won the lottery & thus had her plans scuppered. Bless her.
