Horrendous job interview

I don’t know what happened, my mind just went completely blank as soon as I sat down. The first question they asked me was ‘tell me about yourself’, and I answered….. erm I’ve got a dog. Why!? I couldn’t remember anything about myself to say apart from that 😂

Think it’s safe to conclude I won’t be offered this one!

I mind years ago, I went for a interview and my mind went completely blank. I couldn't answer a single question. I was so embarrassed after it. I didn't get the job but they were so lovely with the post interview debriefing.

Well I am not surprised! You probably had in your head all about them and what things to ask them. Do they really want to know that you love watching Love Island and the highlight of your day (apart from Love Island) is a daily hot chocolate with lots of cream or whatever.

Unless we have a habit of saving starving puppies or regularly climb Mount Everest, we are not going to sound very fascinating, are we??

Plus not all interviewers are that good anyway.

I actually would like this question! I've only ever worked in public sector and they always stick religiously to the interview schedule - even if there is something interesting on your job application they won't ask you specifically about it. I would like to have a question where I could really communicate what I want to say about myself (as a candidate - they were interested in the stuff relevant to the job OP!)

Ps I've had loads of embarrassing interview moments OP, don't worry!
