Looking at air b and b places in oxford but I haven't got a clue where's best. We need parking as driving down but happy to walk in or get the bus into the centre. Can anyone advise ?

It depends what you want to do I suppose but I would advise taking bikes if you cycle, as it's breeze to cycle round the city and you have so much more flexibility with where you go. Otherwise the park and ride services are generally prettying good, so you could look at staying within easy walking distance of one of those sites. Alternatively you could stay a bit further out and enjoy the Cotswolds and then drive to the park and ride when you want to go into town.
Personally I like staying in the New Hinksey sort of areas south of the city, as we then often cycle (or you can walk) along the towpath to get into the centre, which is a lovely route.

North Oxford, Summertown ( towny) and Wolvercote( more rural) both have buses 10 mins into centre.

Thanks. Really helpful. Sadly can't take our bikes so will be walking or busing it.

If you're happy to stay a couple of miles out, Summertown has a brilliant bus service into the centre - literally one will come along every two minutes. Also, used to have a nice Italian restaurant and lots of shops for buying snacks.

I’d agree, Summertown is glorious. In fact anywhere close to Banbury Road going towards the city centre would lovely.

Alternatively, if you like food, the area just over Magdalen Bridge along Cowley Rd might be fun. Packed with restaurants and much grittier than North Oxford.

If you have money to burn you could stay in a grand hotel in Woodstock. Park your car there and get cabs (or the bus!) into Oxford.

Well I’ve bitten the bullet and booked an Airbnb off cowley rd. Gets great reviews. Just got to cross our fingers they are accurate.
