Bleeding and HRT

Hi all,
Am on Everol Sequi HRT patches plus an additional pump of oestrogel. Thing is, my monthly bleed is really heavy - it's like a proper heavy period rather than just an HRT bleed (not to be too gross but proper clots and everything).
Does anyone have any idea why it would be like this. Am bleeding every 23 days as well.
Given that I already have bladder issues (tight pelvic floor, urgency, some pain flare ups) I could really do without the period issues on top. I have vagifem but can't use during a bleed. I'm really uncomfortable and any thoughts on what's going on would be great. I'm 48 and was still getting periods when I started HRT

I would contact your GP. How long have you been on this hrt combination?

whenwillthemadnessend · 02/05/2022 20:29

I was bleeding every two weeks on hrt one of the reasons I came off it.

Been on the patches for about 6 months I think. Before that I was on the tablets but came off them because the progesterone gave me headaches.
I'd hate to come off it - it's fixed all those little niggly aches and reduced my anxiety. I'm also worried about the impact on my bladder if I come off it.

GP said when I started the same HRT that my periods could stay light or return to what they were like pre perimenopause - heavy. I'm on the same patches and unfortunately my periods are very heavy. I'm looking at having minera fitted as the progesterone element to see if it makes my periods lighter again,

I did have very heavy periods in the past, so maybe it's normal for me.
I don't fancy a coil tbh, I already have a slight prolapse and bladder issues (possibly caused by lack of estrogen, although dr thinks it's interstitial cystitis ).
This is horrible though, everything is throbbing!
