Over 600 guesses and no nearer

I mean it's not like a don't have a good vocabulary and a working brain!
I've tried every synonym and associated words with all of these and I'm ready to lamp someone. I'm on over 700 guesses!

I was lucky that I got 997 because most of the other top words below that seem completely unhelpful. I didn’t see the sandwich clue before I got the answer. I had 805 then 997 which seemed closely related, unlike everything in between.
