Normally I hate the phrase 'this too shall pass' but I think I need to hear it right now - and where better than Mumsnet.
Getting married in two weeks (third attempt after having to cancel last minute at the start of the pandemic). Lots still to do. Caught COVID last week - we're both still exhausted, probably in part because DD (19mo) was off nursery so we could do very little of that whole resting thing that is so highly recommended. Coming to the terms with the fact that we may not have much energy for the big old knees-up with our friends that we'd been so looking forward to in two weeks.
DD will be back at nursery this week but (if I'm even negative by then) I should really be in the office as we have planning meetings for a big, new project I'm coordinating, with people travelling in (including long-haul). Of course I could join remotely but even that will be tiring, and then everyone except me will be building the personal relationships that I know will be so important (and the distances involved mean it's not clear when the next opportunity will be).
On top of all this, we're in the middle of trying to buy our first house and there's stuff to do to keep that ticking over.
Oh, and Europcar sent through a notice chasing an apparently overdue payment of 500+ Euros that I never heard anything about in the first place. So that'll be fun to try and deal with on Tues.
I realize that having a wedding and buying a house are good problems to have and I should probably give my head a wobble but good lord - I just feel absolutely broken. No question just a moan. (Oh, and is it just me or is 18-19mo a really hard age? It's like we're starting to get the toddler moods but she still won't do anything unsupervised, including watch cartoons, for longer than about five mins. When does it get easier!?)
