Visiting Wales

I've never been to Wales and I'd like to spend a few days/possibly a week there. It'll just be me and my dog.

Grateful for any dog friendly recommendations of places to visit and stay. Thank you.

North, Mid or South? Anywhere you're particularly interested in visiting?

Probably North as it'll be less driving but I'm open to ideas. I've no idea of places to visit but I love great scenery and beaches.

If you venture further down try the elan Valley 😊

Is hill walking on your list of possibilities ?

You will be spoilt for choice with great scenery and beaches in North Wales.

In my opinion Anglesey has the best beaches without the crowds of those on the LLyn Peninsula. Llanddwyn is stunning - plenty of parking after driving through the woods and fantastic walk over to the old lighthouse. Lligwy beach is a hdden away gem. Rhoscolyn is beautiful up in the North. If you go there you also have the amazing coastal path around Holyead up to South Stack lighthouse and the lovely walks through Breakwater and nearby Penrhos Park. Benllech is nice if you like a more traditional seaside town. Cemaes right in the North is lovely. Beaumaris and Menai Bridge have lovely shops and places to eat.

On the mainland if you want scenery and mountains the Llanberis, Beddgelert, Betys Y Coed are all beautiful. If you like to visit castles the Cearnarfon, Conwy, Criccieth, Harlech are all well worth a visit.

There are some great National Trust properties - Bodnant Gardens, Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd.

Just so many places in North Wales that are lovely!

Oh thank you. I'm excited. Great recommendations. I'd definitely be up for hill walking if it was somewhere I couldn't get lost. 😂
