If their picture has disappeared you could be blocked, but it could also be that they have deleted your number and have their settings to only show their picture to their contacts.

if you can see them “online” then you’re not blocked.

if you really want to know then I would sit in the chat and see if they ever appear online. If they don’t and their picture is gone, you’re probably blocked
