Oh leave it be Carrie

MissAmbrosia · 30/04/2022 12:59

Because it's fake news - there was no lockdown at that point.

noblegiraffe · 30/04/2022 13:00

Because it's a blatantly pathetic attempt by the Daily Mail and co to try to distract attention from the actual law-breaking (and not just party-gate) going on in government.

Don't the Daily Mail know there's a war on?

Gazelda · 30/04/2022 13:01

What @MissAmbrosia said. Sigh.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2022 13:01

Because the message, given loud and clear, is that it doesn't matter. The Tory bots can't get their knickers in a twist about anybody 'partying' having a drink in the office during lockdown, as to do so would be spectacularly hypocritical.

Georgeskitchen · 30/04/2022 13:21

I wondered when someone was going to be brave enough to stick their head above the parapet!!
It seems that Sir Starmer is now backtracking frantically and saying a line should be drawn under all the party gate investigations. ....on the same day the police were being investigated for "letting off " him and his mates when they were found drinking together!!

Sauce for the goose, as they say 🤣🤣🤣

Amazing how people trashing the DM always seem to have been reading it !
It has been reported on the BBC, Sky and Daily Telegraph, and was during lockdown for poster saying it wasnt . I dont read the DM so lot of assumptions going on. Its the blatent bias against the Tories that gets on my t*ts and no I dont vote Tory either.

BBC article from yesterday re this event.

Angela Rayner was at a lockdown event with Starmer: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61271050

WouldBeGood · 30/04/2022 13:43

They really are all as bad as each other.

And were obviously not afraid of covid.

SpindleInTheWind · 30/04/2022 13:44

In all the ways that Keir Starmer has proved to be a disappointment to me, his drinking a beer isn't one of them.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 30/04/2022 13:45

I hope they all get precisely the same treatment.

But somehow I doubt that will be the majority opinion here

SpindleInTheWind · 30/04/2022 13:46

They really are all as bad as each other.

You think that Joanna Cherry is as bad as Michael Fabricant? Crikey.

dolphinsarentcommon · 30/04/2022 13:46

Looks like the police will waste more of their time investigating, more fines will be dished out, and we will all go back to knowing they're all corrupt.

Simple really.

nearlyspringyay · 30/04/2022 13:49

Who? He's a complete non entity

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 30/04/2022 13:50

Except there were desperate threads trying to draw equivalence between the incidents when this first came out.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 30/04/2022 13:55

What say we all just accept the obvious?

Many politicians, all parties, will have broken lockdown laws.

There. All gone!

noblegiraffe · 30/04/2022 14:59

There have been a lot of people taking the piss out of their front pages on Twitter.

You clearly weren’t paying attention when Keirs's beer was being trotted out in February. Durham police were satisfied there wasn’t a problem. I’m happy to leave it there.

SpindleInTheWind · 30/04/2022 15:27

I'll happily admit to looking at the Mail and the Guardian every day, because they're free, and cover a wide spectrum of crap.

Bougie · 10/05/2022 20:57

I respect him very much for doing what he thinks is right.
