Simple pleasures.

Being in bed by 10pm for a nice early night all clean and moisturised after a lovely relaxing shower. What small things make you happy?

Sitting out in the sun (but not on my face) reading a magazine or book and listening to the birds, watching my cats playing, with my dogs lounging next to me.
Sitting down to supper with my daughter to watch a good box set with the fire on all cosy.
Getting in to nice clean sheets.
Getting some good news from my son (he's going through a tough time so positive messages hold disproportionate value).

I love getting into bed with my electric blanket on. Spotting ducklings with my little ones on local walks in the spring. Seeing my DD6mo and DD3 interacting with each other. Drinking a cold squash when I'm really thirsty. The cool down/relaxation part after exercise and when a new series of something DH and I watch comes out.

Heavy rain on a spring day so that my hay fever subsides temporarily. It feels like a day off. (Heavy rain the rest of the year can just sod off, obviously, unless there's thunder and lightning because that's rare and exciting.)

Finding my favourite crisps on offer (the big bag of Sea salt and Chardonnay vinegar ones from the Co-op).

Doing a plant swap with our NDNs on one side.

Doing a book swap with our NDNs on the other side.

We have quite a variety of pets, and get such pleasure from looking after them.

Now that the weather's getting warmer and people are working in their gardens again, we're really enjoying catching up with people in the village when we go out with our dogs.

Seeing ladybirds, baby starlings, big fat bees and lambs 😍
