Not Just Travel - MLM?

I’ve just extracted myself from a sales pitch from a school mum who says that she was setting up a business as a travel consultant. It sounded very MLM-like but having Googled I can’t find much. Anyone know if Not Just Travel is an MLM?

They’re actually part of the Hays Travel Group (Hays bought out Thomas Cook shops and re-employed a lot of their staff after the company collapsed 2 years ago!)

Thank you, that’s interesting - do you know if they have an MLM structure? It wouldn’t be the first established business to follow that path - e.g. Body Shop, Usborne.

It looks like a franchise rather than an MLM.

As @KatherineofGaunt says, it’s a franchise business rather than an MLM. I do see regular posts from NJT franchise holders on a couple of local social media groups so it could be that they have an element of MLM tactics in their franchise model

I’m a franchisee with NJT. We are no way an MLM - as franchisees, we don’t recruit any new people. It’s about our own travel businesses.

You may have seen some of us advertising on social media - but they will be advertising holidays, not recruitment. We are all self employed and social media is a good way of letting people know about us.

If you want to know anything, just ask.
