Posting for traffic and there's a few members on here who have gotten these things spot on!!
DS- 3 months will only settle with his dummy. (Please no debate about dummy use). Last in his mouth this morning when he woke up and came in bed for a quick 5 minute cuddle.
It did not leave the room but I've checked the house. I've pulled the bed apart and it's not there! I've even checked the washing machine where his sleepsuit is!

So wise people! Where is this dummy!?

Try the back of their neck. I have found many stuck there on firstborn but never on second born.

Under the babies mattress

3luckystars · 26/04/2022 16:11

I can’t see the other replies but you should have at least 5 dummies!!

IGaveYouMySnackPack · 26/04/2022 16:15

Places checked so far:

Car (I know we didn't go out today but you never know haha)
My pyjamas
My dressing gown pocket
The washing machine
The washing basket
Every room
Under the bed (even though it's a solid case so nothing can get under so I lifted the mattress up)
Inside the pillow cases and duvet
The couch
His mouth 🤣
His playmat
His changing table

Check wherever your cat hides their toys!

ToiletGambles · 26/04/2022 16:17

Sock/knicker draw? 🤔

Pixiedust1234 · 26/04/2022 16:18

Slippers or shoes. Could have dropped off baby on way down stairs so check the hallway shoes too.

This!!

Granted DS is at the age where he can replace his own but he has to have at least 10 in his cot every night or else we’re in trouble! Allowing for spares when going out etc I reckon we have about 20 total 😂 Even in the newborn era I always had about 5. What if he’s napping in the car seat or wherever out of the house and it gets dropped? You always want a clean one to hand. But I’ve found them under the cot mattress, in the pram footmuff, down his trousers, even accidentally ground one up in the insinkerator yesterday…

Hope you find it ASAP but then yeah, buy more, lots more.

Pixiedust1234 · 26/04/2022 16:22

Oh...frisk the husband. Dont take his word for it. Check top of his wardrobe too. My hubby used to stash baby stuff up there when hurrying to pick baby up off our bed. No idea why since everything else got dumped on floor or surfaces...but baby talc, blanket etc..top of his wardrobe.

Maydaysoonenough · 26/04/2022 16:24

Between the cot and the wall.

IGaveYouMySnackPack · 26/04/2022 17:13

Checked all places suggested and still nope

Honestly I would have given up looking hours ago. Just go to the shop and buy more. If he won't settle without it then don't make your life any harder by waiting for an amazon order.

I have a couple other dummies but that's not the point... 😉

The dummy has been found!!!!

I found it whilst hanging up his sleeping bag outside!! Even though I had turned that inside out etc and even DH checked it!! It must have been in something else in the washing basket, even though I shook everything yesterday when searching! Oh well! Drama over 🤣

New dummies bought yesterday in Tesco so I have 7 spares now 🤣and another 2 arriving from Amazon later!

I love it when a mystery is solved

Pixiedust1234 · 27/04/2022 15:58

Thanks for coming back to post.

The problem with dummies (and other small baby related items) is that they get sticky so just shaking clothes, bedding or cushions doesnt always work. You have to use your hands and go over every inch.

One day you will realise just how sticky babies are when your whole house feels as though spiderman has visited 😥

Birdy78 · 27/04/2022 16:03

Well done you - glad you’ve triumphed over dummygate - I used to buy a whole card of dummies at a time. My daughter used to have about five in the cot. It never did her any harm and it kept me sane !!
