Do you give a gift to neighbours moving out?

I got a card and a present for our new neighbours as house sale due to close this week.

DH thought they were for the neighbours moving out. Is this a thing?? Should we give a gift? Unlikely to stay in touch though sad to see them go.

No. Its not a thing.

Your dh is doing the usual man thing of not engaging his brain properly and putting two distinct and seperate thoughts together.

That's a relief 😅 It's lucky I was home today or he might have handed them over. They would have been confused by the welcome to #22 message 😂

My neighbour is moving and I'm getting her a gift but it's mostly because she's been a great neighbour. I don't think it's a thing as such though.

If my neighbour ever moves out I'll hire a fucking marching band and have a street party in honour of her departure.
