Please help me interpret this dream

I was giving birth at “home” with my husband and a midwife. It was final stages of labour and the midwife was telling me to push and I was but it didn’t feel like I need to.

In between the contractions my husband left the room for a moment and then the midwife did too. I noticed after a while that my labour had stopped and both the husband and midwife had been gone for ages. I got up to find them and caught them both pulling their trousers up.

I then went to the toilet crying, pulled an adult nappy down and had soiled myself.

I’ve tried googling it and it says dreaming of giving birth when not pregnant means positive change is coming but I don’t understand how that ties in with my husband cheating on me.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Midwives can symbolise new beginnings/change. It sounds as though you want to make a change in your life (you're pregnant with possibility). Your husband is making all the right noises at being supportive.

But then he deserts you, maybe you feel he isn't being as supportive as he pretends to be? The midwife (representing the possibility of change) disappears at the same time. You feel you are helpless to improve things without his help and the labour stops.

You go to find him and the dream makes a kind of pun, you see that he's fucked up the midwife (i.e. your chance at changing things).

You're upset and the dream puns again, telling you that you are left in the s*.

Is there some change that you want to make in real life, like moving house or job or spending more time together or something, that your partner seems to be on board with but you subconsciously suspect that he really isn't?
