I've got an omlette maker. It makes 2 at a time quite quickly. It's fabulous!

For dinner I'm more likely to make Spanish style omelette with sliced cooked new potatoes, peppers, onions, chorizo, finish under the grill with cheese on top, turn out on a big plate/board and everyone helps themselves to a slice and some salad, left overs keep perfectly well and can be eaten cold (one of DSs favourite picnic lunches).
I occasionally do French style omelettes for all of us but there are only three of us and DS is only 3 so I do his in a little pan and it will be finished before the other two but needs to cool a bit anyway, DHs will be finished just after DSs so he'll come and collect plates and take them to the table with the salad while I finish mine and take it through. I don't expect them to wait for me to start eating in this scenario and I'm only usually a couple of minutes behind anyway.
If I'm making an omelette just for me it's always French style.

We would just cook them one at a time and some people have to wait a couple of minutes!!

If cooking for two, I undercook the first omelette and keep it warm while I cook the second one, then serve both at the same time. If cooking for more than two, I make frittata and serve it sliced.

I never cook Spanish omlette because mine have never tasted as good as supermarket/deli ones.

I have french style omlette a lot. Has never occurred to me to slice, I love the perfect shape. Usually they are quick so I just make them in turns.

My children have gone off them so when it's just me my favourite omlette filling is wilted spinach and feta. i use a little bit of oil and a little bit of butter to fry the omlette. Sweet cherry tomatoes on the side.

oh yes wilted spinach is my preference, cherry toms on the side
