I'm not taking about big houses, cars etc, but small, every day purchases. I've spent £35 on a pair of Bluetooth over ear headphones with active noise cancellation. Being autistic and sensitive to noise, these are an absolute game changer. They're amazing. Currently on a fairly busy train and all I can hear is my music.

2nd hand i-phone

Kindle

A small bud vase that I have on a table next to my favourite armchair and which always has something in, even if just a bit of something from the garden.

A nice everyday handbag and tote bag

Sounds like a great buy @Mabelface

Right now, I'd say chocolate! Having a rough day and it's hit the spot. Hotel Chocolat, not just any old chocolate 🤣

Flatandhappy · 20/04/2022 14:06

Based totally on a thread here discussing robovacs I bought one - I thought you had to pay a fortune for a decent one but MN wisdom said not. My floors have never been so clean and I am in love with the thing.

Pegasussnail · 20/04/2022 14:07

That's great op.
Mine is an airfryer. It makes life that bit easier. I cook roast chicken in 55 mins and it's lovely and crispy. Less mess.

Also had my brows and lips stained with semi permanent make up so that's been a game changer

Pegasussnail · 20/04/2022 14:08

Flat and happy - what brand ? Sounds great

AmberGer · 20/04/2022 14:08

My (small) pets 😍

Subbaxeo · 20/04/2022 14:10

A cat flap linked to the internet with an app. Made such a difference to our lives-no more getting up to open the cat flap in the morning, we can set the times we want him to be in and change it to locked remotely-we even get a message telling us he’s inside. Useful if you want to then keep him in for any reason and you’re at work-just lock it remotely! My dh persuaded me and we’re so happy we bought it.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/04/2022 14:10

A dozen skirt hangers.

Cloud16 · 20/04/2022 14:10

A hair catcher for the shower!!

WeDontShutUpAboutBruno · 20/04/2022 14:12

A heat sealer.

It was less than a tenner and its been a godsend for when I'm putting bags of stuff back in the freezer etc.

Itsalloutofwhack · 20/04/2022 16:14

A steam mop. We’re in the middle of building work and mud and dust constantly being dragged in. My hot tap has the pressure of a gnat’s widdle so it took forever to fill a bucket, and the house is pretty dark so the floors took forever to dry. £40 on a steam mop and I don’t even mind whizzing it round downstairs twice a week.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/04/2022 16:36

@TheYearOfSmallThings Decent hangers make SUCH a difference!

Fitterbyfifty · 20/04/2022 16:38

A chopper thing for when you need to chop onions, carrots etc but don[t want to use a food mixer.

Cocolapew · 20/04/2022 16:41

My air fryer, I hardly use the oven now.
My puppy.

My Mooncup. I can’t even begin to imagine how much money I’ve saved over the years, not to mention the convenience and reassurance that I’ll never again run out of supplies.

FawnFrenchieMum · 20/04/2022 16:44

My ninja foodi and XL grill, cooking is so much quicker, easier and cheaper! Barely use my oven at all now.

Firesidefox · 20/04/2022 16:45

Cloud16 · 20/04/2022 14:10

A hair catcher for the shower!!

Where did you find such a thing? I would like one of these.

My best purchase that has changed my life immeasurably for the better was my lockdown puppy.

RagzRebooted · 20/04/2022 16:47

Mini chopper
Air fryer
Jury is still out on the Instant Pot as I've only had it a few weeks.
Folding clothes airer. Means I can put everything on it indoors and move it outside if it's dry, but knowing it can come back in as soon as the weather turns. Also less effort than the rotary as no pegs! Haven't used the tumble dryer in 6 weeks since I bought it.

PermanentTemporary · 20/04/2022 16:47

A decent stick blender. Makes so much food so much nicer. I keep it permanently plugged in by the cooker because I use it so much and just wash the attachments.

Hotel Chocolat cranberries in White chocolate. Though only when they are on special offer still expensive

Mossstitch · 20/04/2022 16:48

A decree absolute 😜

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 20/04/2022 16:49

Air fryer

SarahDippity · 20/04/2022 16:50

Uggs 😁

FromOurHatsToOurFeet · 20/04/2022 16:50

Label maker. No more freezer roulette!

Some remote control wires that attach the TV remotes to a container. No more losing them.

Alexa. I use it to play music and the radio, set alarms/reminders/announcements, call the kids, tell me which bins to put out, turn lights on.

Good kitchen paring knives. 5 of the same ones.

LadyCordeliaFitzgerald · 20/04/2022 16:51

AirPods.

vinetbrie · 20/04/2022 17:47

Instant Pot. Makes cooking brisket a dream. Then I can have pulled brisket chilli and cheese loaded fries. Heaven.
