What have you bought that's changed your life for the better?

I'm not taking about big houses, cars etc, but small, every day purchases. I've spent £35 on a pair of Bluetooth over ear headphones with active noise cancellation. Being autistic and sensitive to noise, these are an absolute game changer. They're amazing. Currently on a fairly busy train and all I can hear is my music.

For those of you saying audible, if you download ‘BorrowBox’ you get all audio books free from the library. It doesn’t have the extra podcasts but saves £8 a month.

Thank you for this - downloaded it!

Hot tub

thebear1 · 23/04/2022 09:29

My cat, think he was £60 from the RSPCA, although his upkeep means he is not low cost. Ikea kitchen tongs, cheap and I use them most days.

sickofthisnonsense · 23/04/2022 09:33

Eufy robot hoover

Noise cancelling headphone

Kindle

NoddyMcdoddy · 23/04/2022 09:33

Eufy G10 hybrid - sweeps and mops. Best buy of all time. I’m going to buy a second one for upstairs shortly.

frozen bags of onion, garlic and chilli.

wonkygorgeous · 23/04/2022 09:34

Slug mesh.

It's changed my life, definitely reduced my gardening stress.

They no longer eat everything I plant.

It's what I have t bought that's changed my life.

I have been decluttering for six months now and have finally got on top of my urge to buy stuff to improve my life.

That is so good to hear.
Well done!
I have also reined in spending on things I “ Thought “ would make me happy-
But actually don’t!

Based totally on a thread here discussing robovacs I bought one - I thought you had to pay a fortune for a decent one but MN wisdom said not. My floors have never been so clean and I am in love with the thing.

I need one of these in my life - can you let me know which one you bought please?

Jins · 23/04/2022 09:58

My fancy sewing machine that replaced a more basic one and my overlocker that makes all my work so much tidier
My kindle paperwhite
Borrowbox on my phone
silicone earplugs
A couple of foot files that have finally got my heels looking like heels. One is like a Parmesan grater so much care is needed

Bostonten · 23/04/2022 10:16

Cover less duvets amazing, can put straight in the wash and are super cozy. Particularly good for my disabled DC that regularly has accidents. Dry very fast too

alexa - use it for everything, diary, listen to podcasts etc

ninja food grill - great for teens to make own food

Thehundredthnamechange · 23/04/2022 10:28

How are Eufys with long pile carpets (and clutter)?

Redeyed · 23/04/2022 11:17

My kindle
My Audible subscription (I use the free library app too but Audible has way more books)
My Spotify subscription
My earbuds for listening whilst dog walking/doing housework

rosinavera · 23/04/2022 11:17

@Higgeldypiggeldy35 I have the Eufy 15C max - absolutely love it!!

WhiteCatmas · 23/04/2022 11:18

Eufys generally like clear spaces without charging wires or carpets with long tufts. Ok with catnip mice and guinea pig straw.

rosinavera · 23/04/2022 11:20

@iwantmyownicecreamvan Not sure about long pile carpets but as for clutter you do have to clear the room. I always make sure flexes are out of the way and check the bedroom for any dropped earrings because it will mangle them.

ImAvingOops · 23/04/2022 11:48

Washable sanitary towels. No more itchy disposable ones. I asked for recommendations on MN and got done lovely ones on Amazon for £16 for 4, so much cheaper than lots of the ones on the market. So happy with them.

An upsee firefly walking harness for my disabled son for £315 when he was 3 and couldn’t bear any weight on his feet but after a dedicated summer with this he was not only able to stand but walk too.

Life changing is an understatement 🥰

You have to buy the flap and hub to connect it to internet-this is the cheapest I’ve seen it for the 2. You can then use the hub if you buy an internet feeding bowl etc

Thanks @Subbaxeo

I love my electric bin. No more touching it and then having to wash my hands 6,000 times when cooking a meal.
