Does anyone else feel like this

Numb and disconnected.
I've put some music on, a bit louder than normal - I'm just moving through life today.
Can't shake myself out of this flat feeling.

Yes, I'm feeling like this a lot atm, have been putting it down to peri menopause but suspect the avalanche of shit we're all dealing with right now also has something to do with it. My DH keeps asking if I'm ok and I am really, just don't seem to have a conversation in me and feel like I'm in a sort of bubble where I can't really connect with anything. It comes and goes so I don't think it's depression (have suffered before) but I'm definitely not myself. Hope it lifts for you soon OP, loud music is a good shout.

Thankyou for replying.
You're right - it's a bubble - that's how I feel - almost underwater-like - I can see and hear everything going on around me, like I'm an observer- I just don't feel connected to it.

I don't feel unsafe.
Just disconnected iyswim.

Keep an eye on it, if it persists it's worth speaking to the GP as depression can start like this. The fact that I'm having some better/normal days is reassuring to me but as I said I've suffered before so know when I need to be worried. Have you got anything particular going on that might be stressing you out? I sort of feel like it's overload with me, too much horrible/worrying stuff going on and my brain can't cope so it sort of shuts down. Probably not a bad thing in some ways but not something you want to carry on for long without speaking to someone Flowers
