Hi, i applied for my babies first passport on 04/04/22 and on 15/04 it's been updated to state that her documents have been recieved, how long does it take to process from that point? Has anyone applied recently, how long did it take for you recieve babies first passport?

I applied online and sent documents on 17 March and just had a text today to say it’s been printed. By the time it gets here will have been approx 5 weeks in total which to be fair is what it said the average time taken was when I applied.

Can i ask which office you had to send docs to? How long after they acknowledged receipt of your docs did they approve then print the passport? This seems to be dramatically varying..

I've just completed a child renewal. Documents were sent to the Durham office. The whole process from application to getting the passport in my hand today was 3 and half weeks. From them saying they had received our documents to getting a printed notification was 8 days (including the Easter long weekend!) Hope that helps.

Renewals seem to be so much quicker, my husband renewed his, app on 4th April, and revceived his new passport yesterday. My DD's application is still stuck on docs received since 15th April 😬

I think it was Bootle. Here’s the timeline from the online tracking. So 3 ish weeks after acknowledging receipt of documents (and that took 2 weeks even though I sent them straight away and could see from Royal Mail tracking that they’d been signed for.

Passport printed9:25pm on 19 April 2022

Application approved10:09am on 14 April 2022

Documents received3:45pm on 1 April 2022

Application received6:57pm on 17 March 2022

Identity details received6:56pm on 17 March 2022

Email sent to person confirming your identity10:02pm on 16 March 2022

Ask someone to confirm your identity9:58pm on 16 March 2022

Application submitted9:58pm on 16 March 2022

@Cici05 we are on a similar timetable to you, documents sent off on 6th not acknowledged until 20th. And waiting the next steps!

Applied for 2 on 19 March.

Twin 1’s arrived on Friday.
Twin 2’s was approved on Friday.

We were due to go on holiday tomorrow and have had to cancel. When we applied it said 3 weeks, it now says up to 10.

Applied for DS's first child passport on 28 February and it arrived on 29 March. Docs sent to Liverpool. There was a long delay before the application updated to show documents received, but everything moved fairly quickly after that.

I'll keep you posted when i have any updates. I did manage to get through to the passport office last week and they said that i can call and upgrade to fast track two weeks before my holiday if it doesn't arrive, but can't fast track before two weeks. Hopefully it won't come to that though!

Sorry to hear you had to cancel 😟! I hope you have managed to get a refund or move to a later date!

I applied on march 15th endorsed online the same day, documents sent on the 16th March, text to say received on 4th April even though I sent them first class signed for, passport approved 16th April and got an email yesterday to say it has been printed but hasn't yet been dispatched. DS' first passport.
