Hi, does anyone know of any declutter and clean services along the lines of Kim and Aggie that don't involve being on television? Any responses will be very appreciated.

Happy to pay, there's so much dust in my small house!

Oh I'm nowhere near sorry, so I can't pass the number on.

Can you advertise on Gumtree under 'Services Wanted' or something similar?

Cutemob · 19/04/2022 00:37

@FlappyCats how did you find the team who are going to your auntie? Fascinated, wasn't aware these services existed (outside of London perhaps?)

FlappyCats · 19/04/2022 00:42

I found her on Gumtree. She's about an hour away, but I'm paying travel time and petrol. I was just looking for someone to do a deep clean tbh as my aunty's struggled so much with mental and physical health these last couple of years. Anyway - the lady was offering very sympathetic service for hoarders and people with mental illness and said she loved helping and it was absolutely without judgement. I've no idea how long it'll take, but she's blocked out a week (!)

Roughly how much is she charging? If that's not too rude to ask? Like over £500 or less?

I'd like to do something like this too for a relative (and maybe myself!)

You could try the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers. I've not used anyone myself but when I need motivating I dip into podcasts by The Declutter Hub run by 2 ladies who are members. You can search for declutterers in your area.
I don't know if people are vetted or reviewed to be members though.

She's charging £15 an hour

Just Google it ( I did and there's several in kent). I use one - invaluable when putting my house on the market and moving to a house half the size. Plus she helped me organise all my paperwork. She used to charge I believe £20/hour but a lot was offset by her selling my things on eBay (she took half) but she charges a base rate now as she found people dumping loft/garage worth of stuff on her (or telling her to come get it) expecting her to sort it all out for free then sell it on eBay and still give them half.
Anyway she's now a firm friend so I highly recommend a similar service.
