I got Semantle in 26 today but am stuck on this one. Got absolutely loads of greens but can't get higher than 990.

Top 5 are 990, 986, 977, 974, 971.

Help!

First I was stuck on the 973, 937, 860 route for a long, long time.
Then I had words like 911, 988, after @RoxieLoxy ’s hint, even though I didn’t have the words she was referring to…
Then I clicked!

Then you're probably doing methods, not how. Think about grammar and you might see where you're barking up the wrong tree.

I've got lots of greens but none of the ones mentioned here that have been given hints. Is it too obvious to ask if it ends in 'ly'? This is the only bloody word game that ever winds me up but I have to do it nowHmm

It took me 277 guesses today and I think I went through nearly every bastard 'ly' in the dictionary!

I'm getting frustrated with it now. I stop doing it but it's still obviously churning in the background of my brain as I'll have a sudden flash of inspiration, think I must have got it then ...... Nothing. Or another sodding green.
