I'm up to 995 but still floundering after almost 700 guesses. This game might just kill me!

I feel it's going to kill me too.

Can anyone who's done it give us a clue? Is 994 close?

First time ever in one of these type of games, I give up.

209 guesses so far, lots of greens but highest is 992.

Could someone please put me out of my misery and pm me the answer? I'm supposed to be packing but keep coming back to this instead .

987is as high as I've got. I've done all the synonyms, I suspect I'm way off and the higher numbers don't relate to 987 at all.

Any clues?

That hasn't really helped, I already mined that page for synonyms (I don't know what you mean by pages on that though), you might want to report that post as a spoiler though as the link gives away 994.
