Ice Diamond was a bottled drink wasn’t it?

LowlyTheWorm · 17/04/2022 18:52

where?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/04/2022 18:57

I think Diamond Ice was a cider, but they definitely wouldn't be selling alcoholic drinks with mandarines in the 70s.

Lowly do you not know Little Chefs? Looks like they went under around 2018 (or something!)

Diamond White
PansyPetunia · 17/04/2022 18:59

was it the cubed jelly?

PansyPetunia · 17/04/2022 18:59

its on the menu alongside mandarins

PansyPetunia · 17/04/2022 19:01

that menu must be from the early 70's? i was a cook at little chef back in 1985.

ReeMee · 17/04/2022 19:01

I reckon it’s just a typo for ice cream. Given the others are with ice cream.

TerrifiedandWorried · 17/04/2022 19:01

It's that weird sauce you put on icecream that went hard when it got cold. Or is that ice magic?

Belkell · 17/04/2022 19:01

I can’t even see it on that Menu

But yeah, the cider was Diamond White.

Plantstrees · 17/04/2022 19:02

OMG the prices! I remember Little Chef, they were a great place to stop on a long car drive across the country.

Sorry, no idea what Ice Diamond was but I guess it was an ice cream or sorbet.

Belkell · 17/04/2022 19:02

Ah xpost thanks @PansyPetunia

Weren't ice diamonds the little shaped jelly sweet type things??
I'm sure my Nan used to buy them to top desserts?

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 17/04/2022 19:07

And god I miss little chef and happy eater.

ReeMee · 17/04/2022 19:07

@RozHuntleysLeftHand I had forgotten those ever existed. They were orange and yellow if I remember correctly and my Nan used to put them on ice cream.

Not sure if they were called ice diamond but thanks for the nostalgia!

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 17/04/2022 19:09

They were like triangular and tiny??
I might have gone mad though.

You had to drive 5 kids, 2 in the boot 200 miles. Who didn't need a fag with the windows rolled up?!
FelicityPike · 17/04/2022 19:24

Not the thing you mean but these comments are making me think of Ice Magic.
We always used to have that at my grannies.
