I just watched the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar for the first time and it's FABULOUS!

It's intensely 70s, camp, Jesus is a tiny wee poppet of a man, and the songs are just great. It's free on Prime and has cheered me right up. I'm not religious btw and don't even normally like musicals but this was brilliant!

One of my favourite shows - I’ve been playing in/MDing shows for 25 years and played in the band for it at university. Have been desperate to play it again ever since but not had the chance. Have seen lots of live versions over the years and it’s such a powerful piece of music.

I’ve loved it since we had the Record in the 70s! I was off school for 3 months when I was 9 and I had this, War of the Worlds and a Monty Python LP in my room! I know every word to all 3!
If you can get hold of the arena version, it’s worth a watch. Not so much for Chris Moyles as Herod but gorgeous Tim Minchin is amazing!

Saw the stage production on day trip to London, loved it, saw the film, loved it. Still have the LP. I remember arguing with friends who said Godspell was much better!

I love them both in different ways. The film of Godspell set in New York was amazing. Part of it was filmed on the World Trade Towers just after they were built!
